I like this a bit now.

I miss Dallas. In my opinion [although i love spencer's voice] he kind of ruined uo for me. Ive been a fan of underoath since Act Of Depression and this album was deffanatly the high-point of the uo rollercoaster for me. The title of this amazing cd deffanatly lives up to its name...very different, very inspiring, very timely and you can tell the amount of time spent to perfect this album. A+ uo...A+

Dallas is way better in Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster
|

i would disagree...my opion. i like maylene, but thats not my first choice of vocals.

This album is meh but Message for Adrienne is one of their best songs.
The keyboards on this album are silly. Seriously.
Only in Angel Below, really. And that song's awesome for lulz factor.
And it's been 5 years since the first time I heard this album and it still hasn't gotten old.

Have you heard anything that hit before this album?

The earlier stuff is creative, but it's so amateur sounding. This Message Edited On 11.07.07

Dallas' lyrical delivery is shit tons more powerful, Spencer's voice is great, but not as unique, and his lyrical content is lacking on a lot of songs.

The best underoath album out there. Too bad Spencer can't match Dallas vocals cause on this cd the vocals are some of the best screams in music. IDK why anyone would call this overrated cause this cd is the mix between Cries Of The Past and TOCS and it mixes both perfectly.
Best track: Angel Below by a long shot.

idk, i think dallas screaming was pretty fucking awesome
he had such a perfect tone for the band and what they were doing back then<
and well, spencer fits the new stuff quite well so no
but i think tocs wouldve been better were dallas on vocals, as opposed to spencer trying to imitate him
and like, death metal vocals tend to be pretty different from the screaming dallas did on this albumThis Message Edited On 03.27.08

lawl to the man saying death metal vocalists are better then Dallas. He thrashes through all these songs (although he sounds a lil better on Cries of the Past)

i think this album is generally underrated. its true that the music on this album is pretty basic. It does however create a sound that you can't really find with any other band. I do find some of the lyrics really soppy, but meh you can't even understand the vocals without the lyrics so I can overlook that. I think its a shame underoath lost the sound they had on this album. Its also a shame that a lot of new UO fans hate dallas's voice and a lot of old fans hate the emo sound of this album.

123. Now, it's pretty common down here that most people prefer Dallas to Spencer, as do I, this is easily my favorite record from the band except I haven't ehard their first album but Chasing Safety get's too much shit talking.

Chasing Safety isn't their first album, if that's what you're implying. Acts of Depression is, and it's definitely worth skipping.

chasing safety blows. new record is good though, it's actually the first leaked album i've ever dl'ed.

I've been meaning to go back and listen to this, but I remember I thought it was shitty.

Oh I know, i'm just saying Chasing Safety gets a lot of crap thrown it's way. I think it's a good album if you don't get too technical about it. I have Define The Great Line but never really gave it a proper listen so I should probaly do that before the new album drops. I know Cries Of Past and Act Of Depression are astronomically priced but that's about it so i'll download instead.

Act of Depression isnt a skip, thats a freaking great CD, you just need to overlook the complete lack of technicality, but it makes up for it with attemp, its an E for Effort
