Depends where you draw the line on "later material" Conor. If after 'Hysteria', then I think 99% of the population agrees with you.

Gee kygermo, what did Mr. Elliott do to you? I've never heard him be a "jerkface" at all. And yes, mainstream rock across all the genres really is my specialty. There is nothing wuss about a one-armed drummer!

Def Leppard, while I find their 80's material to be some of the best in Hard Rock music, really did not seem to have it anymore when the 90's dawned. I really can't place it but for me they seem to have lost their flare that made Pyromania and Hysteria such fun records to listen to.

Yeah, that's more than a fair call Conor. And as I suggested before, 99% of the population would agree with you. I liked some tracks on 'Adrenalize', but it's definitely not the greatest album ever made... & it was pretty much all downhill after that. Maybe they were enjoying their millions of $$$ as they lost their flare.

Yeah i like some tracks on their later records too but they aren't a touch on their 80's material. You're probably right about the $$$ too, so many other great bands seemed to go down that road too.

Although, after seeing them live just 2 months ago, I can tell you that they still put on one hell of a live show. No half-a$$ing it on stage!

No way PunkItUp. As I said earlier in the comments to this review, even those who dislike Def Leppard (as you obviously do) will admit to some extent that 'Pyromania' is a fantastic album. I can see how a non-fan would not like the previous release 'Hign N Dry', but this is clearly superior for mine.

This finds a beautiful balance between raw and polished to me. It keeps its roots yet branches into a more accessible style of rock. Giving this a spin now and remembering how awesome this is.

I once considered listening this to humor you but I was overcome with guilt and subsequently didn't.

"Bon Jovi is the Converge of the 1980s" Haha.

"I once considered listening this to humor you but I was overcome with guilt and subsequently didn't. " Oh come on. This is the one album of theirs which should be listened to. Even some haters love this.

Rock Til' You Drop, imo, is the only tolerable song here.
