You should just review one of his albums. Is it the politics?

its a combination of that and the preachiness, and the extreme amount of praise he gets that turns me off. i think he's a skilled rapper but he just doesn't use much variety. i feel like if he didn't have the controversial lyrics nobody would know or care about him.

well it's the lyrics plus some great beats that makes this album IMO. Especially the beat Dance With The Devil brings my thoughts to one of Brahms hungarian dances in terms of melody and harmony

Isn't the entire point of these two albums the controversial lyrics though? That's like like listening to a shred album and saying "if the guitar wasn't so fast and technical no one would care about it." No shit.

It might not be your thing but saying he sucks ass is pretty foolish

Nah bro he's a one trick pony. The only emotion he can bring to a song is RAGEEEEEEEE. He really doesn't have much variety when it comes to lyrics. It's really for conspiracy theorists and people who don't listen to much hip hop.

Immortal Tech has a few really fantastic songs, Devil being one of them, but yeah for the most part he's gimmicky and a one-trick pony. still, I think a lot of hip hop fans go through a phase of thinking he's the shit at some point in their lives.

a lot of people will be turned off by the stripped down, no nonsense beats but I actually like it because it puts the focus on his voice and lyrics. he is kind of a one trick pony I agree, but he does it so well! I'm not a huge fan of the times where he doesn't rap and just rambles over a beat, and I'm not a huge fan of his other albums, but this one is sick. I mean how can you listen to tracks like Creation and Destruction or Dance With the Devil and not be impressed?

also check immortal technique vs flow on youtube its the most complete and total domination i've seen in a rap battle and fucking amazing

people who like this guy are the people who use the phrase "conscious rap" seriously

I never understood what's so 'conscious' about babbling anti-government nonsense
