they aren't particularly well known outside of the power metal circles, but inside them they are definitely one of the most well known.

Man, when I saw Dragonforce at Mayhem Festival, I didn't really know how to react. I mean, holy balls they play fast, but that's about as far as it went for me. They have an intriguing style upon first listen, but I get pretty numb to it after only a few songs. I might give this a listen, they do have some tracks that standout.
