And judging from you lack of comments (ahem 30) you are a noob to this site.

Yes yes. I'm not very good at browsing music reviews and have much to learn.
/sarcasm
I don't see how my amount of comments has anything to do with anything.

I don't know, I just think if you're doing a negative review for an album this well known it should be a little longer. BASH IT GOOD MAN

i wish i could, but then it would be more a track by track analysis, and basically i wanted to keep this short and sweet.

So your beef with this is that the guitarists aren't awesome? I give this a better rating because I stopped caring whether or not guitarists ripped your head off a long time ago. Now I just listen to the whole song and the band as a whole. I don't think that the guitarists should have done anything other than play powerchords or occasional good riffs (One Step Closer, Runaway).

Nah powerchordage or not this album would be literally a packaged piece of fecal matter without the guitars.

no, it's that the riffs sound so... bored. They try their hardest to be center stage, but really they just whimper with pathetically simple riffs. I would rather the guitarists at least show a sense of creativty, and though the simplicity fits the album at times, it just overshadows parts of the album that I wish I heard more.

Listen to that goddamn riff in A Place For My Head and try to tell me LP could work without guitars.

It isn't just the guitars either RNR, if you read the review (which i sort of doubt) you'd see that one of my major problems is also the fact that the screaming from Bennington is just so weak, particularly on the guitar-oriented tracks.

I still like this album years later. Never gets old really. Maybe once I step outside the teenage years and all the angst is gone...but thats bullshit, angst is never gone. =P

Forgotten, By Myself and A Place for My Head still get many a play from me. But, overall this album is barely a 2.5/5.

Oh Maxy, where do I start? Firstly, you talk about 2006 as if it was a decade ago. I know you have listened to a crap-load of music since then and your tastes have improved, but still. I suppose you make some good points (and this is definitely not neg-worthy), but once more you do not seem to have had a look over the review. Take for example the following part of a sentence: "Everything else is either ruined by the completely lack of talent the guitarists posses...". 1 spelling mistake & 1 grammatical mistake within those 14 words, which a spell-check would surely pick up. I mean, I know you wanted to quickly get this up before anyone else did, but gee. Or maybe you just got caught up in the whole rap thing, hence the use of the word "posses"! :-) Mate, I wouldn't bother leaving these kinds of comments if I didn't think you actually wrote pretty good reviews. They just could be even better, that's all.

This album is generic sounding and uninspired, but damn it all if it isn't a **** load of fun. Nostalgia alone makes it at least a 3 for me.
