It doesn't really sound like funeral doom, its just straight up wailing feedback, and gruesomely distorted guitars going at snails pace, while crushing my ability to think, the review makes perfect sense now.

I just listened to a clip of this and it is indeed heavy as fuck. Kinda like Sleep if they were heavier.

Much like the various metaphors expounded in the previous paragraph, this is one debut album that crushes your face. Huge fucking riffs the size of mountains, stamping around and killing cute animals, like whales. Then the whales fall on your face.
