You really, really can't go wrong. Just get whatever you find first. Even "This Shit is Genius" is solid, and that's a b-sides compilation. I'd say get Situationist Comedy or Midwestern Songs of the Americas next. I'd say the former is a little weaker, but only by a hair.

yeah, I'd say it's as good as anything they've done. a little more restrained with the whole "wall of sound" thing but other than that you'd be hard pressed to notice any major changes from situationist comedy to this. they're a very consistent band. If I ranked their albums, it'd probably be
1) Midwestern Songs
2a) C I V I L W A R
2b) Situationist Comedy
3) Versus God
But Versus God rules.

I've got Midwestern, and I'll get Situationist Comedy soon, but I think I'm more partial to Civil War at the moment. This album needs more attention.

This has grown on me heaps, at first I honestly thought it was a collection of just solid punk songs, but this is probably the best straight up punk record of '08.

I just got back from seeing D4. Fucking great show. I also finally picked up a hard copy of this. I never did give it a rating... Probably a 4.5.
By the way, Japanther is just fucking weird. I mean that in the best possible way.
