Just imagine if Becker was able to play today. Do u have any idea how incredible he would have been. It would have been cool to see Buckethead and Jason Becker on the same stage.

Buckethead is without a doubt the best guitarist, Steve Via is the only one who comes close. I have
listened to a lot of guitarists in my time, and now I more or less just listen to Buckethead (80
albums with him in them). I only wish I'd discovered him earlier. He is the Frank Zappa of the 21st
century. Listen to his albums... most of sounds like just him and Brian on drums, and it sounds
better than most 5 piece bands. He is a genius. I only wish I could play like him. This Message Edited On 04.09.09

This review has all the bias and blast of someone who is just personally bored with Buckethead and not the other way around.
If you want vocals then stop listening to him and your comment about the :50 blues riff is ridiculous. Did you have a problem with the 1:35 minor rock-a-billy jam at the end of Population Override too? It left me wanting more but it was a beautiful thing.
This album comes flying out of the gates and never stops. Its chock full of the emotionally driven changes that Buckethead is known for and in my opinion never gets boring.
All I suggest is that nobody pass this one up based on this terrible review.

first two songs are godly, next few are awesome, then the rest just seem to kind of fly by...overall though this is another strong outing from buckethead

Most of the tracks seems to be unfinished ideas.
But there are little moments of awesomeness on those tracks, and because of that I will rate it 3.5 Great.
I really liked this album. I just imagine if those ideas would be finished, that would be a 5.0 rating.

I increased my rating because I'm addicted to this album.
In the same vein of Pepper's Ghost. I can't stop listening it.
Really heavy riffs like Bight Of Benin and Tide Pools.
The Slug concept and song titles is funny LOL
Flee Flicker sounds like Primus, it's like Claypool playing guitar.
Drum sound is awesome here.

What a shitty review. Bad writing, irrelevant opinions, clearly over-biased, and completely nonsensical for the most part. I had difficulty understanding even the basics of what you were trying to express for most of the review.
Buckethead is an instrumentalist. I've NEVER heard anyone ask your allegedly "common question" of "any vocals?" Only an idiot or someone who has never heard Buckethead would ask, let alone answer in a review, such a ridiculous question.
A good half of your sentences were largely incoherent, and I am assuming that English is not your first language.
"But if it is, it seems to suffer from having a similar appearance as some of his more jocular outings, which are usually more enjoyable anyway." Huh?
"the rest of the album can be found of previous releases without even looking twice. Not to say he’s just re-released the same record twice." Wait, you said that it can be found on previous releases... doesn't that actually mean that he's released the same stuff twice??
"The argument of 'he’s running out of ideas' has no meaning here, since the have been previous albums which have had a similar effect." If there have been previous albums with similar effect, doesn't that mean, in your woefully ill-expressed opinion, that he is indeed running out of ideas???
"For those who do manage to obtain this obscurity, expect to receive what you’ve loved for nearly 20 years." WTF are you talking about????
This is far from my favorite Buckethead release, but it shines brightly in comparison to this horrible review, which gets a "WTF?????" (yes, that's five question marks) rating from me. And you are a "Contributor?" You have reminded me why I spend so little time on Sputnik these days.
