Oh Story of the Year is pretty good. That song isn't really what I was expecting, but not bad at all. Better than fucking Lakes or whoever opened at my concert lol.

Yeah, they didn't sound much like SotY. More straight up rock. I didn't think much of them until I saw them play tho. They almost sounded better live than they do on their recordings, especially the vocals. That dude can sing, ha ha.

There is a load of love and respect for Amberlin on this site. Surprising to be honest, I figured these guys would be passed as another generic band but I see a lot more 4.5/5's and 5/5's than I thought I would.

I think it just may be my 2nd favorite song by these guys. And that's an incredible feat because I love everything they've done.

The lyrical implications, if you grew up learning Christianity like me, are amazing. Hits the nail on the head in terms of biblical prophecies.

It is my fave Anberlin song. I have always thought it was an amazing song, and, for me anyway, it makes up for the fairly lackluster group of songs from 7 - 11 on this.

This album gets such a bad rap, which is weird considering Dark is the Way is their worst album overall.

Blame Me!, Burn out Brighter, Soft Skeletens, and Miserbile Visu are some of Anberlin's best songs.

Blueprints is a pretty nice album for what it is, I think id rate it above Dark is the Way and possibly even this record.

With all those Anberlin bumps felt the need to bump this one. Haven't checked Vitals yet but I hardly believe they top this for me.

Does anyone else think constantly about the religious/apocalyptic implications of the lyrics to Miserabile Visu? Shit is so deep:

"In the gospel of John, we are warned of false prophets and false priests at the end of the world. The red priest (bad priest) is a false priest who is talking about miracles by a man raised in the sea which is mentioned in Revelation 13:1. A man is coming in 13:1...Revelation 13:1 says "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy." It is clear that the lyrics are talking about the antichrist because the antichrist will pretend to be Jesus Christ and is coming to "charm the daughters and the sons" as in God's children. The chorus is obviously talking about the end of the world. The second verse is very poignant. The eyes will open of those involved. This is either referencing the verse where every knee will bow when Jesus comes back or it's just saying that those involved will be aware of the deceit being pulled. The part where he says, Don't take this son, but you'll be killed by the man from seven hills. The line is referencing the mark of the beast which will supposedly give wisdom but all who wear the mark will blaspheme Christ. The man from seven hills is again the beast. The seven hills are the seven heads which the beast has. The bridge brings some comfort...Look children to the eastern sky. Jesus is supposed to appear in the eastern sky when he returns. When the ghosts take hold of men who died. This references either angels or demons taking the souls of the bodies in the graves. When your fathers weep and your mothers cry. Adults are responsible for their actions...Children are innocent. So some adults will not enter the kingdom of heaven, but children are innocent and will not have to suffer. I think this is probably the deepest and most spiritual song I've ever heard from any band and Anberlin are very bold to do this as a secular band." -- SongMeanings.net
