I respectfully respect your opinion, but I and everyone else disagrees. Even people who wouldn't touch Trivium with a 10-mile pole can confidently say this is leagues better than The Crusade. Iz cool though, I'm not gonna go bash crazy on ya.
but to better understand your opinion, did you hate Ascendancy? If ur into just pure thrash that would explain any doubts about the quality of this album.

This album reminds me of "A new day has come" by Celine Dion

reminds me of matt heafy and company watching dungeons and dragons while simultaneously reading the odyssey and downing ten 40's each and then recording some dank *** ****. somehow the formula worked

I wouldn't touch Trivium with a barge pole but the first 5 songs are great. The rest are fucking boring.

Death Magnetic pwns this.

Bustyagunz,

I realise that my comments are confusing - yes I loved Ascendancy and Trivium for that matter.

I have been looking forward to this album ever since, well I guess, The Crusade.

My comments are mean't to be pro-Trivium but I am in, for want of abetter phrase, in shock by Death Magnetic which is clouding my judgement / want to listen to Shogun. Hence my disappointment registered but also acknowledging I am just not in the mood for this album right now.

I guess I want to spark comments to force me to 'get into' this album.

Hopefully this clears up my position at this present point?

your position is fine, you're just likely to get flamed by everyone for thinking the crusade is better than this

Like some people mentioned, that some songs are pretty hard to listen to through since they are
long and boring. But i think this album has some great tracks like 'Down From The Sky', 'Shogun',
'Kirisute Gomen' & 'Throes Of Perdition'. The rest of the songs aren't on the same level though. This Message Edited On 10.01.08

A Definite improvement over The Crusade, but still has some filler tracks on there. Shogun is crazy epic and the solos are interesting again. Hope they keep this up, also enjoyed having the screams back.

I have yet to finish the whole cd, but so far I'm really enjoying what I've heard. This cd definitely lacks what the crusade had, which is great for me as I did not enjoy that album. The only problem I'm having so far are the lengths of the songs. Some of these are definitely way too long.

Big improvement.

There were times I got chills by how much more I enjoyed this CD.

There were some times that the CD kind of lulled though.
