This is an average and generic album at best. His clean vocals were decent but his screams really ruined it for me.

The review is the best for this album so far, but still too gracious imo. Overall it's much better than The Crusade, but the vocals still sound like Hetfield at times and the music is really nothing special. I don't think I'll listen to this again cause I might lower my rating.

@ninjuice, i agree that it feels like im being overly praiseful or whutevs, but i guess im really just amazed/trying to express my amazement at how much better this is than the crusade.

Definitely better than the Crusade. This is fantastic so far, really surprised.

You guys are way too fucking harsh on Trivium, their vocals aren't absolutely great but thats part of the charm of it, if you want "great vocals" listen to pop

I think this album is great, not as good as Ascendancy(That album was a 5/5 for me) but close!

This was actually my first try at Trivium, and it was a bad one. Don't expect me to check out the rest. Some cool riffs and beats here though... screams make my ears bleed, but the clean vocals are decent.This Message Edited On 09.29.08

You made the mistake of checking this out first, sigh. Ascendacy is good and Matt is quite tolerable on that album.

I was never attracted to the band, and it gets o much hate that I never cared. I listened to this cuz it was streaming in their page and I had nothing to lose. I have heard good things of Ascendacy so I might check songs from it from the bands myspace or youtube just to see if its any better than this.
