I liked this for about a week when it came out and then I realized it was awful. The Fall of Ideals still rules though.

When I think about Metalcore I'm saddened as the genre had so much potential in the late 90's, very early 2000's. Then all of a sudden (around 04 or 05 around the time Killswitch was getting big) the genre went to total shit. All the innovation and good ideas were gone and the genre was filled with horribly genreic bands who emulated the KSE formula.

This album is shit. It is, in my opinion, everything wrong with Metalcore. Nothing good about this album. I don't know what happened to All that Remains, but they had some potential with their first two discs but I guess they felt becoming crappy KSE clones was a better idea than being a band that tried to create good music.

I see where you are coming from. This album has some catchy songs, but they don't really make an impact.

Mainstream metalcore still has potential. The Hymn of a Broken Man is a great example.
