Great review - I laughed hard every time Jaymz appeared (as well as the other snarky comments interspersed throughout the review). Hopefully this stems the tide of 2342304 more rolling in, because nothing else can really be said.

Excellent review and a great album. Yeah James' lyrics and vocals are probably the low point of the record (Lars, IMO, did a decent if unspectacular job), but the riffs mainly kick ass and some of the grooves on this record are f*cking sick.

Well written review and I agree with the rating...but I think it goes a little too much into Metallica as a whole rather than being a specific album review.

People who expect an album review to talk about every single song on a record need to realize that picking a few select songs that epitomize a record or make the author's points more vivid is preferred over writing the same thing eight, nine, ten, or however-many-tracks-there-are-on-a-record times. In cases like this, you would be better served listening to the album yourself. Being able to encapsulate an entire record into a few paragraphs takes a lot of skill without subjecting your readership into fitful bouts of ennui (I put the 'moron' in 'oxymoronic phrases'), and Dave's one of the best at it here.
