Your first paragraph contains truth out the butt. A great review overall. I've only heard this once and I remember thinking it was a bit too long but still enjoyable. But that's just a personal preference since I do enjoy the band in small-medium doses.

I'm quite surprised you'd enjoy this more then Vol. 3. Agreed on the production though, but I sometimes feel that if Vol. 3 was different, it wouldn't be as radical or ground breaking for them.

I tend to get bored listening to whole Slipknot albums, but when my ipods on shuffle and just a song or two come up it's a great listen.

I'm honestly the same way. Even Vol. 3, I spun it maybe 5 or 6 times all the way through, then just started hitting random tracks. They seem to have more of an impact that way to me.

album I really like and still listen to is Iowa. Vol 3 seemed stale and a lot of the ideas
they tried to add bored me. This one is enjoyable though.

So if you love me, let me go. And run away before I know.
My heart is just too dark to care. I can't destroy what isn't there.
Deliver me into my fate. If I'm alone, I cannot hate.
I don't deserve to have you.
My smile was taken long ago
If I can change, I hope I never know.
i hate bad poetry

I was once a huge Slipknot fan, I mean I new the band backwards. I loved Iowa so much that when Vol. 3 came out I was like wtf. This album, is (to me) no where near as good as Vol. 3 is, simply because it lacks the consistency. After a lot of listens I'm still yet to find a lot here to gain a major appreciation for.

Slipknot was THE band to get me into metal, so a lot of their material is really sentimental.
But still, now that I haven't listened to them in years I still really like this album. That's saying something.

nu metal has been dumped and became deathcore. get the new acacia strain and leave this hip hop rap with double bass and guitar noise alone.
lawl? no, numetal did not become deathcore....
