I saw them live with Metallica and Lamb of God, and I was rather disapointed by the vocals, which are quite weak and hard to understand. Otherwise, instrumentally the band is fairly well off. My favourite song from this album is probably 'The Black River'

I've listened to this album beginning to end almost everyday since it came out, The Sword is indeed amazing.

Maybe no one cares, but "To Take the Black" is actually based on George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, not Lord of the Rings. To my knowledge, none of the songs on this CD are based on LotR.

I saw them live at the Grog Shop in Cleveland back in February. It was hella' fun. Don't take The Sword too seriously and they're a good time.

the sword are interesting. they have the black sabbath, and they have the metallica, but the sword is more just a big riffy metal band with a penchant for folky stuff. which is weird because they are from texas.

Black Sabbath WAS the first heavy metal band. Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple where not heay metal they where more like hard rock. That being said The Sword ROCKS!!!!!!!
