though I think this was one of 2007's best releases (maybe even the best) and one of Radiohead's best albums (in fact, the third best after Kid A and Amnesiac), I also didn't read the review because of that "best band in the world"-bullshit in the summary. This and a five star rating, and it's quite clear there isn't going to be much objectivity.

I absolutely love Radiohead. They're consistently awesome and remain one of this decade's most interesting groups...however, they're not the best band in the world, and, as good as it is, In Rainbows is not that groundbreaking. It's more of a culmination of all their styles into one compact, cohesive, and definitive record. This review doesn't work for me. Simple beauty. Themes are simple yet deep, and sounds are simple but work beautifully as the songs build up. Nude, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, All I Need and Reckoner are all standout tracks for me. Radiohead is my favourite band. In Rainbows is my favourite album by them. Took me years to really understand this album. If you think it is just an alright album, listen to it again and again, hopefully some day you will feel the same towards this album as I do now.
