amen. this album is pure solid gold. it makes up for the fact that digital ash in a digital urn was somewhat unbearable.

I know what you mean when you say his lyrical context changed from his last albums and I agree. It wasn't his usual twisted, fantasy nightmarish and odd lyrics, but the sound and the deliverance were still phonomenal. Great album, as well as the review.

Good CD, not quite up to par with the last two records but still better than Digital Ash.

Last two songs on this own especially hard.

I'm listening to this for the first time and I can see it being a 3.5 or a 4.

ive got a ? in the song "poison oak" theres a line that goes "in polaroids you where dressed in womans clothes. where you made ashamed why'd you lock them in your drawer?" whats with that line? to me it sounds like he's talking about a cross dresser. so id appriciate if someone could tell me what that line means. thanks!

Who cares what it means? It sounds good.

There are a lot of really spectacular songs on here. Like Poison Oak, Lua, We Are Nowhere And It's Now and Landlocked Blues. Bright Eyes' best album.
