Anger is amazing Maniac, and so is Defeater(I prefer Lost Ground to Travels), but Verse is one of the bands that got me through some really, really rough times in my life.

my favorite modern hardcore album comes down to Promises Kept or Travels (which I do like just a hair more than Lost Ground, sue me)

I don't consider myself knowledgable about the genre, I just know what I hear, and I hear Verse being much more listenable than Defeater. I still liked Travels by the way.
