I own M(US)ic and it is incredible...this album made me weep out of sadness. its like they took everything bad from the first album and expounded on it. on the other hand I'm also glad they didn't try and do the first album with a different line up...I don't know. I'm kind of in limbo on this one

Well what is your rating now? Last album didn't bring me to tears but it was pretty dang good.

I'm liking this album quite a bit. less technical than m(us)ic overall but the songwriting is solid. hopefully they'll do a mix of the two the next time around.

After getting over the initial shock due to the lack of all the techy stuff, the album is actually starting to grown on me. I still think M(us)ic is better but the songwriting as a whole does seem to have improved.

Anyone heard The Disillusionist on their myspace? It rules.
I was really underwhelmed with this album after getting really excited over that song.

i was pretty disappointed with this initlally, purely because it wasnt a repeat of M(US)ic but its starting to grow on me, i see it more like a transition album for damiera, theyre next release will probably be killer

1) the disillusionist was such a great song.
2) this sounds like maroon 5
3) i used to consider damiera as a really REALLY good kinda softcore math rock band, and i loved that style. their first EP was amazing, as i heard of them like the week before music was released. they lost it now.
4) i guess im just bummed they have a different line up.
5) theres only a few good melodic parts, other than that i am very disappointed. i seem to get embarassed when i listen to this. ill still sport my damiera hoodie though !

Why would you get embarassed about the music you listen to?

While I def. agree that this album wasn't what I hope it would be I do have to stand up for some of their rhythm section. Being a drummer and seeing them live, their new drummer def. kills it on the kit BUT the songs on this album don't hold a candle to m(us)ic.

I definitely think this is their best release.

This album has kind of grown on me. I was certainly disappointed at first, expecting something more
along the mathy lines of M(us)ic, but really, if I heard a repeat of that album I don't know how
impressed I would be. I want their sound to morph, and this album seems a positive stepping stone
toward that end, even if it wasn't entirely successful. And especially considering their line up
changes, it's a pretty solid release--I still find it really enjoyable in some of the ways I did
M(us)ic. Hopefully they get back together to produce something new, in the future.
Excellent review btw
