By far their most disappointing album, though I have yet to hear their debut. The reissue is out of print according to Wikipedia This Message Edited On 01.17.09

I agree with the review. Bland music, bland lyrics, lack of originality, lack of feeling, lack of attitude. That cannot possibly be the favourite band of my childhood...
Regardless, I think you could've at least mentioned the album's few merits, such as "You're Gonna Go Far Kid". Not that it makes the album any better, but at least it would've made your review more exhaustive.
Good job.

"bland lyrics, lack of originality, lack of feeling, lack of attitude" last time I checked this is
what got them into trouble with "Splinter"
the uninformed public is so wishy-washy...band is the same band, puts the same energy into their
shows, makes the same albums for the same fans. I basically love everything they put out, its just a
question of what do I love most. while it's not this album, rise and fall is still pretty great.

I agree. There was nothing wrong with this album and it was easily the most consistent since americana.

Never really got into these guys, aside from Ixnay way back in the day.

Ah..the album was good. The only beef I had with it was the songs risked sounding too similar.
But, I can't deny the goodness of the first three tracks.

I highly disagree with this review.

I Highly disagree with this review. terrible album, few good songs, no. mediocre songs, and the rest were terrible, enough acoustic, try listening to their debut album or ignition to get the taste of what the offspring should be like, hopefully they'll grow out of this and start playing music again.

Their debut is NOT very good. Ignition is alright, but easily my second least favorite.

I personally think this is one of their best albums to date. And I AM familiar with their earlier stuff so... Why I think it's the best? Simply put... The change. Like you said. It's the least "offspring" album. And in a weird kind of way that actually sells it for me. Their not even trying to be punk and isn't that what punk is all about? Ironic, isn't it? Kristy and fix you are slow songs in the legue of gone away easily. I don't like hammerhead I'll give you that, but only because it's to long. I like the album because offspring show the need to evolve. They don't just follow the same formula all the time, and they still manage to record great music. It's just like axls chinese democracy. Listen to it with an open mind and it's going to surprise you
