i really can't decide which album i dig more. cause Night Ripper has a lot more of him chopping up songs into way tinier snippets and manipulating the beats a lot more. fta is more just like layering the songs over each other, but he just strikes gold with perfect mashups way more often, he's clearly improved his abilities. But like I said I wish he did more stuff like at the end of Here's The Thing, where he cuts up song and makes his own beat kind of.

A solid album, great review. My friend has been listening to GT for years but I never considered picking it up until I read this review. Play Your Part (Pt. 1) is solid enough on its own, especially the Pete Townshed/Unk Temple of the Dog/Birdman Lil' Wayne/Sinead O'Connor mash-ups.

I'd give this a 4.5 if it weren't for some of the weaker moments in this album, especially that MIA part: "nana na na na"This Message Edited On 01.17.09

I first encountered this last night, driving round in big80smullet's car in fact, and was impressed, confused and disorientated at the same time. I felt different segments of my brain triggering at the same time as memories cropped up and vied for space. As a self-confessed music geek it startled me. It was like listening to 3 or 4 albums playing at once, and a child was operating the skip-track button; pressing one of the 4 stereos after a few seconds. Spasmodic and hyperactive it may be at times, but brilliant it is all the time. I only shake my head when I think of how long his music takes to make though. This Message Edited On 01.19.09

This is really good from what I've heard on his myspace so far, seems more like fun music I'd play at a party tbh, whic isn't a criticism in the slightest. I like how he makes use of a lot of chart songs. A lot different to what I expected based on hype/not actually reading reviews.

I have just given Girl Talk's debut 'Secret Diary' a listen.
Can I please ask Nick, DavID or anyone else who really liked 'Feed The Animals' to give their approximate rating of 'Secret Diary'... I just want to know the degree of improvement I am looking at as I progress through his albums...
