I've liked this and Night Ripper. I can't help but feel a bit polarized, though - this is awesome party music and [ideally] gives people the opportunity to find the original sources of music, but after that game is up, how long will its longevity last outside of parties? I still find something new with each listen, and it's a fun record (as is the previous record, which I think is a little better), but I would understand if people didn't get much out of it.
I hate listening to this and people who think it's necessary to listen to this at parties. I seriously love this stuff alone in my room. It seems contrived to play it at a party as if saying "rererereremix" but equally contrived to sit down and update the wikipedia page with the exact samples. I think it's just a good album, with both great details and a great overall uptempo feel.

The Wikipedia pages are epic fun to pick up the samples. I'd love to see someone make a playlist of every song sampled on FTA.

I was at a bar two months ago right after the album came out where the DJ essentially redid Feed the Animals but with the original songs. It was painful.

It certainly would have been inconsistent.
Woo-Ha! followed by Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic? Hmm.
Can't wait for this guy to come down under, the videos I saw of him at Lollapalooza were friggin' ridiculous.

So I got the physical copy a week or two ago in the post, and the liner notes has a huge list of all the source material. It's quite nice. A lot more in-depth than what's on Wikipedia.

FINALLY seeing Girl Talk this January.

He played here a few weeks ago and the stage collapsed because so many people got up and danced with him.
The venue owners were total bitches about it and in the next day's paper they said they would stop booking any acts besides rock.

So this is definitely better than Night Ripper, and one of the best albums of the year for sure. "Here's The Thing" and "Shut The Club Down" are clearly Gillis at his prime, especially the former which is the best track on the album. Best mash-ups:
Jessie's Girl/Rather Get Some Head
Young Turks/Back In The Day (particularly the way this then flows into the "We dont give a fuck" part is brilliant)
Its Goin Down/Aphex Twin Song
Paranoid Android/Jay Z
I'm A Flirt
Chicago Saturday In The Park
fleetwood mac gypsy
def a couple more im thinking of, only thing that disappointed me was his use of crank dat soulja boy, think he could have done better with that one

But it's Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak!" Even though the Soulja Boy element is lame I really dig the TL.
