this hasn't really hit me like night ripper did. none of the sections (except maybe the grandmaster flash sample in set it off) have really thrilled me like the biggie/elton john or nas/pixies ones did.
it could grow, but idk. i haven't really listened to night ripper much since last year either so i think it's more to do with me not really being into girl talk anymore rather than the album being bad.This Message Edited On 06.20.08

I really hope the people who listen to this album go back to the sources of some of the songs. He has pretty awesome taste in music. As a mix it's pretty good- some really great moments but lots of monotony too.

Good review. I was worried in that paragraph on samples, you focused a little too much on what samples he was using rather than how they worked as songs. But it all worked out with the last paragraph. Thin Lizzy against Soulja Boy? Sounds blasphemous, but I'll trust you.

Sounds like he more or less did away with all the "Unstoppable" bits on Night Ripper, and added even more samples.
Album slays though, "Shut The Club Down", "What It's All About", "Set It Off", and "Play Your Part 2" are the highlights so far for me.
Tight review too.

I'm a tad dissapointed.
Its not bad, in fact, its really good, the use of samples is definitely more defined than Night Ripper.... it just doesn't match Night Ripper in terms of sheer "partyness"
