Is it just me, or did Heaven Shall Burn rip August Burns Red off? Listen to An American Dream, and
then Joel. Wow...

I don't hear much of a resemblance. Remember though that this is metalcore and there are only about 14 different riffs throughout the entire genre.

^false, there's at least 28.

Okay, reasons this album sucks:
-The style in itself isn't good, it's like bro-ed out melodic death metal, it's just stupid.

-The vocals fucking suck.

-The songwriting is painfully predictable and uninspired.

-The lyrics are fucking stupid.

Yeah I forgot to include integrity so 28 is about right

What they really need to learn though, is that this album sounds dated as fuck, it might've gotten them somewhere in like 2005, but no. Darwin read what he wrote and it all became so clear, this is evolution; theory, principle, fact.

They've had the same style since Antigone but for some reason I'm an idiot and liked their sound up to here. Probably because back in the day this was one of my favorite bands.

Their new album is shit, basically because I've had enough of their same old same old.

Exactly, they're incapable of the evolution necessary for a cliche metalcore band to survive hahaha.

Pretty much, although many in the mainstream seem to like them a lot now. Saw a kid with a Trivium shirt in the record store today checking out their albums and decided that this band is dead.

The resemblance is that screeching white sound. There's one at the end of An American Dream, and one in the middle of Joel.

An American Dream:

Joel:

I feel like HSB was pretty unoriginal there. An American Dream was out before Joel.

@Lucian- That's just guitar feedback, there are like 32109365278 bands that use that, I would hardly call that ripping off.

Can you recommend any albums that do that?

Besides August Burns Red an Heaven Shall Burn of course. I don't listen to a whole lot of Metal you see and I like those feedbacks ^_^

There are multiple errors in this review. Not to mention a whole bunch of awkward phrasing.
