so wheres a good place to start in terms of listening to a full album for NIN? I've heard like a billion of their songs just never listened to an album start to finish.

The Downward Spiral gives you the best idea of the really dark music NIN is mostly recognized for, so yeah, that's really your best bet.

Definetly try to start with the downward spiral, but if you prefer diversity The fragile is a good place to start. It has some soft atmospheric song like La Mer or harder tracks with a considerable length like We're in this together.

I think if you prefer diversity you should definitely go with Pretty Hate Machine over The Fragile, which I think is NIN's best record all around. It has just as many dancable synthpop tracks as it does brooding industrial anthems.

The Fragile is my favorite but that one actually takes some time to digest. The Downward Spiral is much easier to get into if you just want to get a taste of NIN, and it's one of the best concept albums of all time imo

Been trying to digest The Fragile for 6 years and I just vomit it back up every time.

Pretty Hate Machine is fantastic but the downward spiral and the fragile have more interesting elements, more polished concepts, and more intense tracks. Anyways head like a hole will be always one of my favorite songs by this band.

Nah don't need a taste, I've actually heard quite a bit. Also I should of already known to start with downward spiral because I've been meaning to listen to it for way too long.

Also, I fucking love industrial stuff so I'll probably love this too.

If you love industrial stuff, then I think we can safely guarantee that you'll enjoy music from the most popular industrial project of all time.

Yeah Disc 2 is a lot more experimental. The Big Come Down is probably my favorite NIN song though

Damn, I'm outnumbered. I need more Fragile haters in this thread. I actually have a hate society for The Fragile that I've been working on, 6 members and growing so far.

Yeah, that's pretty much the reason behind my username, not even kidding. It's also my username on NIN.com, other users ADORE me as you can imagine.

I'm gonna laugh if it becomes a 5 for you next time you hear it. 6 years worth of time's a charm!

It's actually been going pretty good so far, I'm surprised. It's good to know I'm not alone in the world with this contempt that I carry for everything The Fragile-related.
