This is definetly their best tied with vulgar display. My favorite tracks are the title track, domination, and the art of shredding.

This album is my Favourite album of all time. Theres hendrix, Page Van Halen then Dimbag Darrell. But i not only like this album on the strength of dimbag (known as diamond darrell at this point), but they are the tighest metal band of all time in all aspects of the word; techinically, Rythmically and they create the greatest metal feels imaginable. Stop criticising this album from a non genre based perception, IT IS METAL. And amongst metal the greatest. This album is my favourite album off all time on the basis of not only the greatnes of the songs but the stand out moments IN the songs; such as the Psycho holiday solo which i still have not masterd even though being able to play Michael Angelo. Why? because of the feel and emotion it is drien by, the guitar is dimebags 5th limb. and i hate it how people sya vinnie paul is a over rated drummer; dont listen to it as how his playing is, but WHAT he is playing. he connects and amplifies the leading members' ( in this case the guitarist) feel and tone like no other drummer, and rex Brown not only keeps up with dimes insane riffing but locks in with vinni paul so well. They sound as one not 3. ANyway back to the albums features, The solo from the sleep mentioned by 'cwjso' This is the most Anthemic guitar solo i have ever heard. listen to wat is being established. The end of domination after the MASSIVE bridge, you can feel the energy being trapped in and being sifted out all over this riff. And the HUGEST ENDING IN MEATAL HISTORY in shattered, listen and you will know. and also the greatest Metal intro ever in 'Message in blood'. Panteras music has diretion with every song and mooves not only by itslef, but all of its listeners. you need to consider who what when where why and of course HOW; take that in mind and you will know the beauty i love, loath and listen to everyday of my life. Im a 16 year old kid from western australia... ibet your thinkin where the fuk is that, it goes to show how much effect there music really has. Ladt but not least do not hear the music, LISTEN.

Kid, I'm a 22 year old guy from NSW, and I agree with you on a lot of points, but there are tighter bands out there.
This is a great album though, and for me the high point is the solo in cemetery gates...however, I think both Vulgar Display Of Power and Far Beyond Driven were at least equal to, and maybe better than this.
And unique among a lot of Pantera fans, I really like both Great Southern Trendkill and their earlier hair metal work.

OH MY GOD, i forgot to mention phil anselmo. This guy puts a point forward more then any other metal vocalist ive ever heard. He drives the bands attitude and Is the cap of the bottle. He also writes awesome lyrics wich make you feel wat hes feeling; over all HE CONNECTS. and this is when he was in his prime the growl and the falseto (SHATERED ROCKS!!!!!!!)

Yeh man all there albums fukin rock. but tis album shows dime as he was in the day. therefore wat he was like raw. i also fukin love all of panteras albums. i could write a shit load botu any of there ablums. but i feel i connect to this album more then the others. its a personal liking. im pretty much writing from a perspective of dimebags playing the band is the ultimate amplifier for dime in a sense. AND YES TRENDKILL, POWER METAL, I AM THE NIGTH, PROJECTS IN THE JUNGLE AND METAL MAGIC ALL ROCK. ALL OF THEM DO.

and dont call me kid haha

I think sometimes Pantera get overrated because Dimebag was in it. Don't get me wrong they've made great tunes but because guitar mags and other people say Dimebag was one of the greatest metal guitarists of all time people feel that just cause he was great that the band were great. I bought this album recently and my favourite tracks are Cemetary Gates, Psycho Holiday and Cowboys from hell. Phil's voice at some points is awful like on Heresy when he goes really really high. Dimebag kicks serious ass though!!!!

This is one of the best metalalbums .It has supreme solo's and riffs. Anselmo's vocals make this album beter then the real metallica albums. Almoust as good as Painkiller, another legend.

I prefer phils voice on this album than any of there later work. However i still think on some of the songs on this album his voice lets the songs down and in there later albums he changes his voice. For example I'm Broken is an incredible song but i cant stand the vocals on it. I think this probs to do with the fact i don't like screaming ir growling or watever its called in vocals lol
