The first disc has its boring moments, the title track is especially taxing as it never seems to go anywhere. However Pharaoh's Dance is the highlight for me, around the thirteen minute mark the track really comes alive and makes the album worth listening to alone.
Although Pharaoh's Dance is my favorite track I slightly prefer the second disc. The piano soloing in Miles Runs Down the Voodoo is ace and Spanish Key also has some beautiful moments. I'll admit that Bitches Brew can be an extremely difficult listen it eventually pays off.

Good review. Fusion may not be my favorite form of jazz, but this is certainly a good album. Can get difficult at times, but some of the songs can be quite rewarding.

I'm tempted to give this a five but then I remember I can only really get into when I'm going to sleep. Still an extremely enjoyable album.

As much as I love Miles, this album is soooooo insanely difficult to digest. Ive had it for over a year and a half now and Im still getting used to it. Talk about clocking in for work. However, Pharoe's Dance is amazing, as is the title track. In short, mushroom music.

This is much more claustrophobic than Kind of Blue and Sketches of Spain. It's extremely hard going but brilliant.

This I find to be more enjoyable than Kind Of Blue, if only for its fucking amazing technicality and more more funky/rockin/proggy feel. Defnitely my fave jazz album EVER
