Nile is really starting to bore the hell out of me. The guitar riffs are basically toneless chugging over blast beats. They could potentially do great music but their insane ambitions for brutality produce an hour's worth of music that all sounds exactly the same.

Coming from you SF, that shocks me. Although they do try a bit too hard to be brutal, they still deliver some great riffs and solos and Von Unaussprechlichen Kulten is the best thing to happen to death metal.

They have great solos, but the combination of the riffs and drums are just so boring. I can listen to a song or two of this and enjoy it, but when I try to listen to the entire album I just can't sit through it.

Plus I think Nile's slow songs are by far their worst. This Message Edited On 09.29.06

I love this album

Drumming is monstrous, I love the slow epics and the brutal fast shit

Redundant rage is what you can call it, and I'm loving it.

(They're not as bad as CC though)

it sucks
Come again? Nile can't suck. Period. Case Closed.

Has to be one of the greatest death metal albums ever. In my opinion it blows away anything they have ever done before, and nearly everything else I hear. Every element of the musicianship is flawless. Karl Sanders has possibly the best vocals I've heard. Enough great things cannot be said about this album. Ad Absurdum hit the nail on the head with the review. I could rave about this all day, incredible release.
don't forget Dallas Tolar Wade. He does just as much guitar work and vocals as Karl if not more not to mention his Death grunt is lower and i like it moreThis Message Edited On 11.08.06This Message Edited On 11.17.06

Great review. I got this album on the strength of the review. Best thing I've done all year. This album is incredible. User-Maat-Re gets better everytime I hear it.

I'm listening to this right now.
The guitar is kinda hard to decipher, but the drums are faster than a squirrel flying up a tree chasing an acorn :p
awesome

This album is really heavy and i love it!.....Sacrfice Unto Sebek is a masterpiece, it sucks tho since they kicked there bassist out that guy was a beast...I cant wait to see them at Ozzfest.

they don't need a bass player. They are Nile.

george kollias's double bass reaches 265 bpm, thats 1060 strokes per minute on Sacrifice Unto Sebek. Technically, if he did the double bass like that for a minute, he'd be the fastest double bass drummer ever. Nile Rules.
