So Gorguts rule. It's taken me a long time to give death metal a chance. I def like the proggy stuff more (Gorguts, Ulcerate). Can anyone rec any bands similar to them?

Gojira's The Way of All Flesh has some tracks that reminds me a bit of this... but, you know.

I notice people that like Gorguts and Ulcerate also like Immolation (even though they are more traditional death metal). I think it is mainly because they have a crushing atmosphere and well constructed guitar sections.
If you haven't heard any of Opeth's heavier albums I would recommend it. If you like Opeth and want to get into a black metal equivalent I'd say early Ulver too.

Jamming this at work when a customer starts asking me about it. Goes on to say that he likes it but he is into the more "technical" bands, like parkway drive or as I lay dying. . I hate my town.

As I lay dying's best song is worse than Gorguts worst (which I have trouble finding)
