I must say, this is the kind of thing I would usually hate (note the DT avatar), and for the most part, I do. However, the song "My Bloody Valentine" is really cool. so it gets a 1/5 from me.
That song is the bane of your existence if you ever try to look for mp3s by the band My Bloody Valentine.

I have the album, and I admit I really like it. I ignore all the crap that people (yes I have critisized(sp?) them too) say about them, but if you put that aside, and listen to them as if they were any other band, they're not that bad.

3/5.

Kudos to you for being a good sport in all this bashing. Truth be told, "Seasons" from the other album is my guilty pleasure.

I like "Seasons" too, as well as "Wardolf Worldwide".

Anyone recommend any Good Charlotte songs from their first album apart from those two?

My copy is before they put "The Clique" on the album, but that's a decent tune. "I Don't Wanna Stop," "I Heard You," and "Change" are alright. The first two are more rocking and the latter is more ballad-y.

And this doesn't kill my indie cred. I'm sporting my Pixies shirt, I'm getting a job with the college radio, and I drove home listening to Dntel.

Thanks. :thumb: I liked GC when they first appeared in the UK on TV, and then grew away from them, but after reading this review, and listening to the album again, I was an ass for talking so much crap about them.

I have no respect for this band what so ever, My brother brought this album and I heard a couple of the songs and they were terrible.

They are, or if not as bad as Busted:lol:

But it was a good review.
I see it's gotten to one of those "It's cool to bash this band" stages. immune2u; who rock? Who are you talking to?
skatemaster; I do like good music. In fact, I like general music. Everything apart from manufactured pop. I'm not one sided, I love most kind of music (including what you mentioned).
homicdal_klown_666; No emotion? Read the lyrics to My Bloody Valentine, Hold On and Emotionless.

Look, I don't like Good Charlotte that much. I'm not a major fan and I don't have stupid posters of their so called hardcore image. But I am defending them because I believe they tried to write this album as good as they could and I believe there are some good songs on there.

But, I might as well face facts. None of this is gonna get through some of your TV-brainwashed heads. Thanks to some of you who appreciated the review and then gave your opinions.
So anybody who doesn't like GC is TV-brainwashed? And I don't watch TV...

I happen to like Busted. I, for the first time ever, sat down and listened to a few, and they aren't bad. The only thing I don't like about them is they take away the attention better bands should get.

Truth be told:
GC suck. There a bunch of try hards for real-non-pop-radio punk. Listen to Goldfinger, Sum 41, Rise against, NOFX ANYTHING is better than this album, i bought it when i used to like GC OMG how cood i? I want my friken money bak to buy a better cd (In Utero). People who are played on the radio over and over (Rock radio is acceptable) i have no respect for because i know that they are just another band who want money, they dont care about the music because most of the songs i hear are CRAP! Alternatives:
Good Charlotte: Sum 41 (There ok, better than GC) or Pennywise
Evenescence: George (Not as hard, but there cool)
3 Days grace: Foo Fighters...? (Based this on everything about you)
Simple Plan: This is just a boy band disquised as a rock band.
Hoobastank: Eggggh wrong answear, i cant stand these guys, Metalica all the way here.
Maroon 5: Just like Simple Plan, there is no rock Lenny Kravitz is better.
Exceptions: (Bands that i like that are on the radio) they dont sell themselves
Nickleback, Linkin Park, Nirvana
