love me my Gilmour, he's entitled to his opinion and feeling about it......doesn't change the fact that it's a stone cold classic and one of the best albums ever released
hells yes........1980, get with it boys, classic prog rock was already in the rearview mirror
Genesis - Duke
Jethro Tull - A

Whenever he's interviewed it always seems like he has put the kettle on and brewed a proper cuppa for both himself and the interviewer.
Real deal.

"And sometimes the tunes - the vehicles for the lyrics - got neglected. To me, one of Roger's failings is that sometimes, in his effort to get the words across, he uses a less than perfect vehicle."
Perfect. If the concept is amazing but many songs are weak, the latter will distract from the former

Waters did write Animals almost entirely on his own and for that I give the man credit.

Exactly. Gilmour was lucky to play solos on these songs. Listen to his solo albums and PF albums without Waters, then you will see how clear the case is.

yeah regardless of what waters or gilmour themselves would tell you, they are absolutely a case of the sum not being equal to the parts, they required input based on each other's individual talents to make the great work of pink floyd, and when they boxed themselves off there was a very noticeable drop off
