Trying to branch out from what i usually listen to and this is my first Meshuggah album....so far so good.

The :48 mark of Dancers is amazing, I agree. It's a nice mix of Nothing and Catch Thirty-Three.

I mean like while their music is pretty cool to listen to, I really just don't see what they are doing different/groundbreaking. I'm not impressed, but for the mere fact I've listened to their other albums.

Pretty good album, but it's just more of the same.

I didn't think I described the album as groundbreaking... and I don't think people should expect groundbreaking stuff with every (any?) new release :
There are new/different components here, though, along with the allusions to previous albums. It's definitely Meshuggah, but with a bit more of a streamlined, cohesive sound from open-to-close, especially in comparison to their past albums.

All Meshuggah I've heard has impressed me but this is definitely one of their more consistent albums.

To people who don't find this particularly groundbreaking... while that may be true, you need to keep in mind that most of the "pieces" of the Meshuggah sound on this album have been around since DEI in 1995, and at that time it was pretty groundbreaking.

I dont think this is that great, Im still undecided as to what im going to rate it though. It feels like a solid 3 maybe 3.5. I just cant enjoy anything they have done besides I

I'm getting sick of everyone saying everything is hyped. Almost all of the reviews for new and good albums out that people enjoy and give good ratings too, others dismiss as hype. It's just annoying.

It just happens, man, and with all forms of entertainment: music, literature, film, visual art... it comes with the territory. I'm less concerned about people agreeing with me; I just want readers to have a good impression of the music through somewhat-decent writing.

haha i'm not sure what to think about that avatar jom

Catch 33 bored me to bits, but if Jom likes it, it must be good.

The guitar part at 4:11 is the most mysterious thing i've heard in a long time. It really gives me this weird feeling, and the solo after it just pushes me back into reality. Simply amazing.
