This is better than their self-titled debut, but that's not saying much. To give Beach House credit, 'Devotion' improves on immediacy, production & theme/lyrics. Furthermore, Victoria LeGrand's vocals are more assured here. Unfortunately, the lack of variety which plagues the duo is still apparent, especially when it comes to that damn sleepy tempo they cannot escape from. Also, many of the tracks (even the better ones) go on too long, meaning it is tough going to get through the entire 44 minutes. Recommended Tracks: Gila, Wedding Bell & Home Again.
