No. That's what makles him so good, the fact that he likes to use odd timings and accents.

Megalodon is an awesome song. The basslines are awesome, and the weird guitar fills are what really sets this band apart from its contemporaries. Well, that and the ability to write songs with asskicking titles and awesome concepts.
And this is a little weird, but one of the guitarist's tones reminds me a lot of Tool's Adam Jones. Of course, this guy can shred as opposed to ambient noodling, but there's still a slight similarity in sound. This Message Edited On 09.20.05

"Blood and Thunder" was an extremely good song. But the rest of the album is taking me a godawful time to get into.

Naked Burn is an awesome. There is a local band near us called Naked Burn (named after the song) and they are awesome. They listen to Fall Out Boy, but they are still awesome.

i saw them live last summer, the sound quality was crap in the concert, but they left a good impression. i particularly liked Bran D., he was about the only audible member that day :D

I was obsessed with this album when it came out, but I haven't listened to it in a while. Maybe I should pull it out again.
*looks for Mastodon albums*

Maybe because it's still awesome. And maybe because Brann Daillor is king. And maybe because anything Moby Dick related just has to be cool.

They both use the Les Paul Silverburst, which is often said to give off a weird and unique tone, probably where the similarity comes from

Ahhh, I'm listening to this album again. It's incredibly awesome and rivals Dragonforce for being the best album of 2004.

Yes, it's quite a unique sound. I'm glad that two of those rare guitars are in good hands at least.

Listened to the whole album and decided that it was fantastic. Not a single filler song, although of course there are some songs I like more than others. Really solid album, at least a 4.5 for me.

Very good album, but I don't really see why it would deserve a 5 IMO. Badass album cover also.
