This could have been a very good album, and ended up being slightly above average thanks to Mulder (80% of which is a waste) and In the right to make..., which seemed like a terrible way to end the album. I'm a big fan of the vocals and drums throughout, although the guitars tend to become somewhat grating.

Good review, You covered the album nicely without sliding into a track-by-track recap. But they don't sound anything like the number twelve to me.

this album is an awsome hadcore blend of a lot of things which is cool...the machinegun breakdown in "If You Want To Blame us" is awsome... the blend of genres these guys will make them famous....i'd say its and instant classic.....when your old and senile you will hear this on the radio and you kids will call you a pussy because everyone in the future will listen to shit twice as brutal

Agreed that the machine gun break down is clever, but after several listens, I can't put notable parts to particular tracks due to the complete and utter lack of cohesiveness. Still, at least this band has ideas, good and bad, and don't succumb to the triteness of most modern metalcore (yes this is metalcore). Also, the production sounds pretty sloppy on this album, but maybe that's the sound they were going for?

I disagree with your claims about their singer. He's the reason I love this album, his high scream send chills down my spine. and while not all of his lows are the greatest, he has some moments that make me say "OH F!CK!" I dig the shit out of this album.

Hope the new album is sick, MMX had some great songs and then a few boring ones. Forgot how sick this album was until recently.

Digging: Nero Di Marte - Derivae
