just saying, the first track doesn't sound like any of the following tracks
i'm also hearing a bit of a mix of industrial and post-punk. pretty catchy actually

Ahh dammit... I realized that when I got to the second track though. It is really great though, although it reminds me of like, Brand New vocals or something against this really large dark waterfall of sound that's surrounding me. Weird visuals my head has.

Fun fact: there are very few things in the world more epic than:
"Oh, and you watch as the animals
lay themselves
down at your feet
a thousand bared teeth
a thousand bowed heads
yes, they're begging you for
death"

I need to give this a listen tonight. It's always my favorite thing to put on when it gets late and I'm the only one up in the house.

i listen to this all the time these days, the first disc is 5/5 no questions asked for me. the 2nd has a few missteps, but also some fucking huge tracks. I think about 5ing this all the time.

I hear you. I just don't usually 5 things that often. It basically meets my criteria for what is a 5, but I'm somewhat strict when it comes to 5-ing albums.

I think you're trying too hard to like this Sea. You should try to go into albums as objective as possible.

sorry I'm not really following crazybd : /
and idk, it's hard to explain i just don't have strong feelings for this... I actually play it fairly often, but it always ends up
becoming background music. like cept for a few standouts nothing really grab me
EDIT: oh if you're referring to my soundoff that's really really dated

It's more about the overall atmosphere it creates. This is perfect late nite music.
And you have to appreciate the quieter moments to enjoy the much louder ones. The post-rock influence in it, I guess.
Just my 2 cents.

I get what you guys are saying. I don't wanna force it though. Maybe I'll put it on randomly one night and it'll just click.

@Sea this album was just bg music for me too for awhile (with the exception of a few of the catchier tracks). I think you should try listening to this pretty loud. For me the track hunter was just droning nothing for awhile. But now when I listen to that track I get so caught up in it.
When you listen to this loud the atmosphere really fills the area around you. and I just quoted this last page so excuse my faggotry but when it gets to the part in that song where he sings:
"Oh, and you watch as the animals
lay themselves
down at your feet
a thousand bared teeth
a thousand bowed heads
yes, they're begging you for
death"
chills every time. But the build up to that and the industrial-ish stuff after that is just outstanding as well.
