It just has the word EPIC written all over it, the Burning Kingdom trilogy specifically.

Which suggests I would worship it as I am in love with all things epic but I don't know. Not enough going on, too much "symphony" and "power" not enough "metal". Hell, how does one quantify these things.

Will listen again to make sure though.

lol, then you shouldn't love Sagas as much as you do.

nah, there's plenty of crazy instrumentation on that album, lots of shred and drum fills and chugging and such. And generally fast as hell, so it keeps me listening and interested for all the minor tuning and pitch changes. The instrumentation on this just comes off as lazy and empty to me, though only on maybe half the tracks. This Message Edited On 07.29.08

Comparing this record with Sagas is a little unfair - Equilibrium had much more funding and resources devoted to that record courtesy of a major label. The epic sound attained on Lux Aeterna, for an unsigned band that hadn't received the benefit of a big blank checkbook from a third party, is still impressive.

I understand and agree with what you said Jom.
Sadly that doesn't make this album any less (relatively) boring to me . This Message Edited On 08.05.08

Yeah I overplayed the shit outta this cd and changed it from a 5 to a 4.5 not long ago. Still a great record nonetheless, but i finally understand why some people think it gets repetitive and boring because, well, it does. But still doesn't detract from it too much.

These guys sound interesting. The vocals do remind me of Kamelot.
