No it just seemed like you made the extra effort to comment on both or something, it was weird.

Na, I normally try to respect that sort of thing when it comes to comments and reviews, I know it can annoy the reviewers.

The famed keyboard solo is not that bad IMO. Meaning, I don't think it made the song worse. This Message Edited On 01.25.08

I thought the keyboard solo was awesome honestly. It wasn't nearly as cheesy as I expected it to be after all the "hype."

I've got up to Spoils so far. Pretty good so far, keyboard solo was indeed unnecessary in Limb For Limb. I'll catch the rest later or tommarow. The atmosphere is pretty cool in what i've heard.

I really love this just now.

however, if it follows the previous trend with me and PtH releases, I'll hate it in a few months, I hated Kezia at first, and now it's one of my favourite albums, whereas I loved A calculated use of sound at firs, and I can only bear listening to Dmitri Karamazov now

The vocals were slightly whiny on Kezia though. Not especially hard to become accustomed to though.

I'm getting a leak tonight so I can rate tomorrow. I'm relatively excited to hear this shiz.

It's more likely to stand for of course.

But if it were so, that would be damn funny.

I listened to their entire album from their myspace page. Granted it was only one thorough listen but I gotta say I was expecting not to like this yet I was pretty impressed. They have fantastic range in-so-far as they're songwriting and instrumental abilities go. But I have to say this, feel free to flame me if it makes you feel better, I won't try and stop you. The lead singer sounds like a bad punk/emo vocalist that got tired of being made fun of for being a bad punk/emo vocalist and decided to try to sound harder and more badass and well-versed but it just sounds like he's being shook and strangled I really really really can't stand him...he's not a bad singer, he has a rather nice set of pipes and good range...it's just that I'd rather here the sound of britney spear's voice a-capella while she's drunk than this guy's layered a thousand times...just my opinion of course...

Great review john. These guys are absolutely amazing. You're absolutely right about the basslines. They need to prioritize them... every once in a while there's an awesome riff that I just can't appreciate as well as I want to.

Kezia was written when those guys where still in High School & how could you expect so much from them at that point? They have deff grown & improved since then, and Fortress is an amazing album & i highly recommend to ANYONE whom loves METAL to buy this album! (will DEFF not be disappointed!)

The production on this album is so sweet. The low end is so much clearer than most bands of this type.
