The transition from Aberinkula to Metatron is phenomenal. The tension and lack of vocals in the outro of the latter, and then bam, Metatron introduced straight away with the chorus. Also Pridgen is just on fire on this album. Vicious but also groovy playing, brilliant.

Never listened to these guys but seems like something I might like. Best albums are Deloused and Francis I gather? And I’m assuming if I’m gonna tackle their discog, I should go in chronological order?

Best TMV album. Also yeah, I would just go in chronological order if you plan on tackling the discog. Although, I would say this album and Deloused are their best by a country mile. TMV are always a zany and fun listen.

I wouldn't say it's the best but it's definitely their most relentlessly energetic and fun album. The drumming here is mindboggling

Yeah this is my fave, closely followed by Frances.
De-Loused has been slowly growing on me over the years as well.

I actually prefer this over lousy comatorium so far. It's got way more energy - you can tell the band was having tons of fun making this thing

Bloated as this is, it's got depth and catchy lines

I’m not sure how an album can be this hilariously absurd and cringeworthy, but also enjoyable, my tiny brain can’t cope with the contradiction. Some fun catchy-as-anything jams and no shortage of bullshit. I guess that goes with the territory.
At the end of it all they fully committed to their creative whims and held nothing back, which kind of suits them.

ahah I just love how in constant conturbation the band seemed to be and how it reflects in the music..with brilliance tho

Cringeworthy?

It has moments, sure. All their albums do. This probably has the most, yet somehow it manages to overcome them. Agadez/Askepios are perhaps the most at fault here. It’s a little overlong as well, but again, that seems to go with territory.
