They're just better. Scott Hull is a fucking riff master for one thing. J.R.'s screams are some of my favorite in grindcore. The drumming is fantastic. The psychotic romance lyrics are lovely.

He is a good vocalist. He's in some kind of deathgrind supergroup that just got started and signed to Relapse, but I can't remember the name or who else is in it. I know members of Exhumed and Intronaut are.

I'm still not sure what exactly makes powerviolence what it is. I just know it's a precursor to grind.

For me powerviolence is just a very fast form of grind/hardcore that makes me want to knock someones teeth out. It's hard for me to give it an exact definition though because certain bands like Man Is the Bastard don't fit in with the other bands I would consider powerviolence. imo stuff like Hatred Surge, Fuck On the Beach, Magrudergrind, combatwoundedveteran, and No Comment is powerviolence.
