Hahahaha no worries. I knew you were cool anyways just because Im that cool! But seriously, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, old Marilyn Manson, and NIN put out some of the genre's best industrial albums.

Awesome review once again. I really dislike the direction that Skinny Puppy has gone in, especially their album previous to this one with the retarded hip-hop influence on it (they even had a video out for one of the songs with lol breakdancers on it).

Ummmmmmmmmm, I'm always going to stick with Ministry's earlier stuff on this one. I really enjoyed the album by these guys with the song Rabies on it.
I can't say I dislike the direction, but they're also one of my favorite bands ever. The video with the goth break dancers was supposed to be a big joke, and I think it's pretty funny.
Yes, Ministry's album "The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste" is one of the best Industrial of all time, but there's not many albums of any genre that hold a candle to "Too Dark Park" by Skinny Puppy (In my opinion).

I will check out Too Dark Park if you say its that good of an industrial record. Yeah, those goth break dancers were pretty funny the first time I saw it. I just didn't realize it was a joke hahahaha. I did enjoy one of their videos from back in the day.....I think it was called Rabies (the video looked like it was sticking up for animal rights).

You really should check it out... I've been a fan of SP's for a long time now, and I read any interviews, reviews, etc. that I find... and that video was just a joke. On the other hand, the video you're referring to is sticking up for animal rights. A lot of their older material deals with that (hence the name of the band).

Thats what I thought they were protesting for. It's good to see a few bands using their power to provoke some type of intelligent message. I'm checking that album out right now. By the ways, thanks again for the killer Thought Industry records. I will be purchasing those next time I see them for sale. This Message Edited On 01.09.08

Yeah.. you should go to Youtube and watch their video for "VX Gas Attack" if you want to see some shit.

Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nem_uP-bpFs

It will also only reinforce the fact that the "Pro-Test" video was just a joke (although the lyrics are still making a statement even though the video doesn't reflect it).

In the streets hit me be a politician.
Eroding all your freedoms.
Down the rabbit hole.
Cracks money markets fall through a looking glass.
Time becomes too fast, all to benefit the rich.
So keep eating from the apple, edges from the center.
Shaken to the core until it doesn't matter.
No one to turn to, no where to run to.
Better the bomb to blow it.

Edit: I'm glad you liked the two Thought Industry albums. They're one of my favorite bands and eventually I'll review their last three albums. If you check out "Too Dark Park" by Skinny Puppy let me know what you think. This Message Edited On 01.28.08

Willie, what would Thought Industry's best album be? I just got Short Wave and it's pretty cool although a bit lengthy.

Short Wave was their final album in their deal and they were breaking up afterwards, so they crammed everything they had left onto the end of the album for the fans. I think that the "official" album would have ended around track 11 if it hadn't been their final one.

All of Thought Industry's albums are different. You heard their Prog/Alternative/Radiohead-ish album. If you liked that, you'd probably like "Outer Space is just a Martini away"... I think you'd also like their two first albums that are very difficult to describe (although I tried in their reviews). All of them are out of print except the one you have so if you want any of them (or all of them) just let me know.

Haze and Pedafly are the best ones of this CD. Easily their most accessible album to date. Pretty hard to top Too Dark Park and The Process, though.

Willie, Tyler was refering to a South Park episode with a goth girl in it. The post is exactly what the girl says in the episode. It's a gentle mockery of goth.
Anyway this album is great. I loved the heavy, layered sound of the earlier Skinny Puppy stuff, but the lack of melody and vocal variation bothered me. I wanted just a little more musicality mixed in with the noise. The Greater Wrong of the Right was a little too mainstream and melodic for me, so this album is perfect for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I love all Skinny Puppy, but Pedafly, Dal, Magnifishit, Ugli, and Haze from this are pure gold to me. Layered, heavy, melodic, distorted. Win.
