Took me awhile to finally truly "embrace" Meshuggah, and given my fondness for metal I'm still a little ashamed to say this band hasn't hit me like it's clearly hit a lot of the metal-listening community.

I think Meshuggah"s complexity and weird time signatures is far better than the songs itself on this album.It demonstrates nice uncompromising brutality but yet it lacks excitement and has a great deal of meandering grind,chunk and growl that's frequent in extreme metal.Acrid Placidity and sub levels are most likely the finer moments and their are some cool layers and musical textures that are heard from time to time on this record.

Overall i think meshuggah's complexity and weird time signatures is far better than the songs itself on this album.There's very little excitement mostly constant chugging and growling vocals.however some songs are better than others going towards the last half of this album perhaps some sense of dynamics and musical textures with acrid placidity,Inside and sub levels.
