the only reason I think it's behind this album and slightly tied with Artwork is because some parts felt a bit cheesy to me, but otherwise I think they succeeded with the poppier route they took

agreed. in love and death gets a lot of flak for being quintessential album from that 'emo' phase back in 2004-2005. truth is, it's incredibly well-produced.
this and the former pretty much got me into listening to music other than the beatles. wish sputnik paid more props to third-wave post-hardcore.

I personally liked that one, it felt a bit more gritty and there were some really catchy parts to it, though I can see why you might not like it as much, it isn't the most definitive album they made
Blood on My Hands, Empty With You, Kissing You Goodbye and Watered Down are great
