96kbps was always the lowest acceptable compression rate when squeezing mp3s onto players with very limited memory back in the day. The tradeoff btw amount of songs/sound quality massively goes to shit any lower. Glad this isn't an issue this day and age ^^.

I thought it was pretty forgettable. Celestial Lineage was a beast of an album though imo. that album and this are my two fav WITTR albums.

CL is really average and awkwardly organized imo. And Celestite was just an ambient companion to CL so it had to be a WITTR album.
