This is seriously the worst bunch of comments on this site since Iai's Converge review. I agree with Cocaine's sentiments.

As for the album, it's awesome. The first metal album I've heard in quite a while that's made me interested in the genre again.

Oh no tears please....It's a waste of good suffering

I've only heard Diadem of 12 Stars and can't seem to find this anywhere. I'm sure it's good though. I'm actually not in too much of a hurry to listen to it at the moment though.

I listened to this album on my computer and needed to get up to get a drink...but couldn't. That's how I know this album is good.

I am a new member on Sputnik, and i had a question that i wanted to post on the forums but somehow i am unable to ,so i decided to put it up here so it can get some attention.I usually listen to Lamb of God,Opeth,Poison the Well and similar stuff but a few months ago i got this oppurtunity to listen to Burzum's Filosofem-and honestly i simply just blew me away.I have to admit i had never heard music so radical, affecting and gripping.Since then I have checked out other Black metal classics like Darkthrone's Transilvanian Hunger and Gorgoroth's new album. But i have also come to learn that most of the black metal musicians are white supremacists, racists, nazis and murderers-or at least support all of the above.I am Indian(not the american kind, but from the country in Asia),and probably one of the 10 people in my country who listen to Black metal,But i cannot shrug off the feeling that these artists that i appreciate so much might not appreciate my being a fan and might consider me scum that needs to be wiped from the face of the earth.I cannot come in terms with this and everytime i put the Burzum cd in,i feel uncomfortable.I was hoping if you guys can help me on this and tell me if black metal is meant only for white people and if i would be better off to avoid this music.

Please answer.

No, no man. Theres no law saying you have to be white to enjoy b.m. Besides, most of those guys are idiots anyways, dont pay attention to their actions. The music is all that matters. Anyways, check out Dissection's Storm Of The Light Bane, necessary album. I've heard about a couple metal bands in India that are rising. Have you heard of Demonic Ressurection? or Sledge?

thanks a lot for your thoughts BallsToTheWall and funhouse-i guess i will just keep listening to them.I have heard Demonic Resurrection, and I am not saying this because they are my countrymen, but honestly they are good.Dunno about Sledge. There are other bands like Pin Drop Violence and Bhayanak Maut(meaning Terrible Death) who are really coming up with good metal. They are playing tons of gigs throughout the country but haven't got much media attention. In India, media attention seems reserved for Bollywood.

Not surprisingly, I'm not sure about this. I have never been a fan of droning black metal stuff, especially when the songs are way too long.

Why are you the biggest failure on earth? This isn't droning black metal anyway, point me to the sections of this album that "drone".

actually there are a lot of parts on this album that involve lower drone notes/chords while progressions/melodies are played. pretty sure he wasn't using the phrase in a negative manner
