This album rules so hard.

I think Ruiner is better than this.
But again, I'm a squirrel and have weird opinions.

Your description of the new bassist was enough to make me giddy. Always good to see a full band effort for a punk album.

Honestly, I don't get how anyone can think Ruiner is better than this. Production wise, that album is weak as hell. It had a bunch of classic songs, but (relative) crap like When I Was Alive, God Loves a Liar, The Pool, and Speed of Dark killed it for me. This doesn't have a bad song on it, even Jaws has grown on me a lot. It might be catchier, but that catchiness seems super contrived, whereas the catchiness here sounds really organic, and fits into the aggressive song structures better.
I listen to this at the gym all the time. Great cd to work out to.

Haha, I knew you'd give in and change this to a 4.5 Strizz.
I thought Speed of Dark was one of the best tracks on Ruiner. This cd tops both Mute Print and Ruiner easily, but I'm really back and forth about which of those I think is better.

I listened to what I could find on the 'net from A Wilhelm Scream and I thought, "Gee, these guys don't sound like SoCal Punk at all." So I went to their MySpace page and, lo and behold, it says they're from New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Other than that, this was a good review, and an awesome record (from what I've heard so far).

so stoked to hear it.

Speed of Dark to me is just like "oh check us do the same thing we've done everywhere else on this album". Pretty genericore honestly.
However, this album is fucking bitchin. I could see this as classic in time. I even like Jaws 3, People 0 alot now.

I hear you on Jaws, I really didn't care for it at all at first, but i really think its pretty wicked now.

I'm waiting until probably next summer before I bump anything from this year to a 5, and there are 3 contenders for it as well.
Man this album still rules. Lyrics on it are fantastic.

I'm barely into it, but it is fucking brilliant. The Horse is a beast of a song.

I love the Horse, but I definitely think that We Built this City has alot more going on in it, thus I like it better in terms of their two longer songs now.
Oh and I totally take back what I sad about nixing Stab from that setlist. Song rules. Remove William Blake.

I underestimated this album at first, it grew on me more and deserves to be bumped to 4.5

I meant to pick up Mute Print to start off with this band but it wasn't in stock and i didn't want to wait--Its been about 2 months that I've had this record and its a great, aggressive, melodic high energy album. The only sticking point i have against it would be the harmonic vocals on Cold Slither II, a very small negative but they annoy me without fail every time.
And one quibble i have with the review;
"Summary: Raw"
Seems inaccurate to me since this whole album sounds extremely polished with grade A production there is no raw sound assimilation to be heard, every instrument is always clear and audible.

I think the harmonies at the beginning of that track are absolutely genious.
Also, this is pretty raw compared to Ruiner, which had a really sleek and clean sound to it.
