"no where near their best"
It's like their only album that consistent enough to warrant a 4/5.
Exile might have been 5 worthy if it were one disc of their best material... instead they had to force two discs out of it. Their highlights are great, but they literally don't have a single album that doesn't have at least 2 meh songs.

agreed, i always felt the stones wanted to be the type of band to release a shit-ton of music in their career even tho they're more of a singles band

it's a toss-up between this and Beggars Banquet for me in terms of consistency

It has their best song too, but as a whole my fave is probably Let it Bleed or Sticky Fingers.

Salt of the Earth?
That's probably the only one from Beggar's Banquet I still care about... unless of course you're talking about the overplayed, but still good Sympathy for the Devil.

Sympathy yeah.

It's really not considering that Mick Jagger ruins a lot of their songs. The Rolling Stones are way overhyped.
Sympathy for the Devil, Jig-Saw Puzzle, Street Fighting Man, Stray Cat Blues, Salt of the Earth all keep my interest, but come on the 5 tracks are so meh, don't even.

I'm just being honest. Jagger has a good stage presence, but his voice is kind hard to listen to sometimes.
