Pagan Angel And A Borrowed Car is probably one of the best songs I've heard all year.

Dude, Sam Beam is one of the best musicians that I know. I got The Creek Drank The Cradle first and I thought that was amazing, and then Our Endless Numbered Days, and now this. Just when you think he can't get any better, he does.

What I love most about his music is watching it evolve the way it has, yet it's still consistent in quality over each release. This album is no exception, and nice review.

"Boy With A Coin" is one of my favorite songs of all time now.

Possibly his best album... Standout tracks are

Pagan Angel and a Borrowed Car
White Tooth
Carousel
House By The Sea
Innocent Bones
Resurrection Fern
Flightless Bird

I would put Boy with a Coin but it's kind of been overplayed for me.

he changed his sound a good bit on this album...he went all progressive-folk.

it's good though, anybody else hear the Reggae vibes on, "Wolves"? took me by surprise. Countryfied-folk-reggae...what a great fucking idea

Yeah, I noticed that too... sounds like he's throwing in some dub elements into that song. genius idea.

i'd give this album a 4 simply for flightless bird american mouth, but the whole album is truly worth the praise. For a start, it's truly a progression from Iron And Wine's previous releases. Although it shares the same intimate-hushed-right-in-your-ear-boardering-on-the-creepy-voice it represents a leap for sam into more melodic song writing. Horray, decent hooks! This album kicks ass. Only one question remains, why is it under rock?

A friend lent me two albums. Not my usual thing whatsoever, but it's pretty amazing. I'm gonna hunt this down when I find a spare moment.

This album gets significantly better each time I listen to it. It's becoming one of my favorites. Woman King is pretty good also, I haven't heard any of his other stuff.
