...I'm pretty sure they NEVER said that they were happy hardcore EVER. The album is what it is. If you absolutely hate this genre, obviously you hate it, but if you like this genre, this album is fucking epic. In an album stance, it's not "good", but in a catchy-sort-of-technical-sort-of-hardcore-ish way, it's good.

[quote]I thought the band was intresting. They reminded me of Fall Out Boy, but with breakdowns.[quote]
Funny thing is my friend showed me this band and I told him the same thing and he always denies it (denial). But there is a definite similarity with the vocals of both bands.
Overall I think they're pretty average though.

Honestly boring....A Day To Remember is far superior to these guys...lucky it even gets a 3.

I have to disagree with fattytoeben, I saw them live with A Day To Remember and New Found Glory, and Four Year Strong stole the show, the crow was crazy for them, everybody was moshing and crow surfing singing along, it was the funnest concert I've been to in a while. When ADTR played ppl just were like "what the fuck", I like ADTR, but i like Four Year Strong so much more

Yea im not hearing the Fall Out Boy likeness at all.. in fact im confused as shit on that one.
I think their vox are pretty sick. the dual cleans are interesting, and the screams(while rare) are pretty in-your-face.
Pretty damn good pop hooks, and some seriously fun double bass.
i honestly never knew about this band till i saw em at Taste Of Chaos, and since then have been fricken in love.
Oh, and yes they have nice beards.

'Rise or Die Trying', the 2nd (I am unsure why many call it their debut) LP from Massachusetts quintet Four Year Strong is much more slickly produced than their debut, accentuating its multiple hooks. Combining hyperactive pop-punk with energetic melodic hardcore (often utilizing double bass drums & occasional screamed vocals), the album is most importantly fun & at its best when the dual vocalists & gang vocals are taken advantage of. There isn't a great deal of variety, but there doesn't really need to be all that much over 34 minutes. Recommended Tracks: Heroes Get Remembered Legends Never Die, Maniac (R.O.D.), Prepare To Be Digitally Manipulated & Beatdown in the Key of Happy.

agree davey boy, its what made their follow up such garbage. The harmonising and glossy dual vocals were gone!

When you say follow-up, do you mean their covers album or 'Enemy of the World'?
