I get it if he doesn't like the album, but...that's like a top 10 moment in music right there haha

Plus didn't he scream so hard he threw up in the studio or something?

An example of how the mythos of an album can take precedent over the content. Sean Schemmel apparently passed out while voicing Goku, top 10 moment in Anime right there.

"An example of how the mythos of an album can take precedent over the content."

That's not really what I meant. Regardless of whether or not the story was true, or even existed in the first place, that's still near-universally regarded as the climactic moment of the entire album. If the music wasn't already considered to be well-done, the backstory would've held little to no weight

"If the music wasn't already considered to be well-done, the backstory would've held little to no weight"

Well there is the crux of the argument, the music is well done in parts, but for the most part it meanders into no particular direction. I mean I doubt Grace would be as popular had it not been for Jeff Buckley's unexpected death, but that fucker knew how to write a song, and he knew how to sing.

Fair enough; I understand how somebody could see this as aimless, and I agree that context can shape public opinion and lead to slightly unwarranted acclaim, so agree to disagree I guess haha
